Setting up a successful New Year

With the New Year not so far away I thought We should get our head in the right space on how to go about achieving what we want next year. I know I personally have some fantastic goals around business and lifestyle. It is that would life/workbalance that I am seeking.

How can you assure yourself of actually accomplishing your New Years Resolutions (goals)?

1.
Turn your New Year Resolutions into future goals, none of which are negative.Set goals that have a clear point of accomplishment, so you will know when they have been achieved. For example: set the goal of reaching a weight of a certain weight, as opposed to I will stop gaining weight. Another example would be: set the goal of getting your ideal income position, as opposed to: I will stop complaining about my job. Really this is about changing how you think and your inner self talk.

2.
Only set goals that mean the most to YOU, and will provide you great value when completed. Do not set goals because you feel you should or because someone else wants you to. If there is no passion from within then there is almost no chance of success in achieving your goal

3.
Commit yourself to achieving your goals. If you are not committed to achieving a goal, drop it. If a goal is not worthy of your full commitment, it is not worth bothering with. Dropping a goal because you are not committed is not a failure or cause to be disappointed. It is a very practical and responsible thing to do. You will release more energy and time to accomplish the more important goals you ARE committed to. Again this is how you think about things and what you make it all mean. You ahve total control of your htoughts so if you drop a goal and start with a new one see it as a success not a failure. A success because you were strong enough to change direction. This does not apply if you do this every second week or actually achive nothing.

4.
Separate the goals into two groups.
A. Group A includes goals that require you to improve and grow as a person to achieve them. Some examples would be: Gain trust and appreciation for your efforts and services, or Become the leader you have always wanted to be or Discover and get your ideal income position where you "Go to Play...?" every day. Set a fun run or event you think you can achieve and I know you can all achieve much more than you think you can

B. Group B includes goals that do not require you to improve or grow as a person to achieve them. Some examples would be: Complete your tax returns, or adjust your resume to land a job, or Build a personal web site.

5.
Connect with someone you trust. This partner will care enough about you to be objective and will keep you accountable to assist you to accomplish your goals in Group A (that’s me). By doing so, you will be assured of achieving these goals. Growing and improving, as a person is not a self-help process. You will need assistance. Get the best assistance you can find by connecting with your ideal coach, who is trained, experienced and highly focused on you achieving success. I recently attended a Men's Health and well being group and in one weekend I was able to forge some awesome bonds and open up tho htese people and it was so uplifting to be able to do this. So talk stuff through.

6.
Consider (very strongly) in getting expert help to accomplish the goals in Group B. Since you are not required to change or improve as a person to accomplish these goals, you can have experts accomplish them for you, and probably do it better than you would. If one of your goals is to paint the house, you might consider hiring an expert house painter to paint the house for you, so you can focus on your goals that cause you to improve and grow.

7.
Personally celebrate the achievement of each goal.Rejoice with someone who cares about you and who understands the importance of each goal. Do so immediately when the goal has been completed. For example, celebrate the loss of weight (5 or 15 kilograms) with someone who understands what it meant to you; celebrate the painting of your house, even though it was done by your expert house painter. Celebration does not have to involve alcohol. It could be a pamper weekend.

8.
Feel free to add new goals to your list. You will want to add new goals (resolutions) as you complete old ones, or you will want to adjust the ones you have to meet new circumstances. Why wait until the beginning of each year to plot and achieve your most important achievements? Make goal settings and achievements a year round successful and enjoyable process.

Have fun with your New Years Resolutions (Goals) and enjoy the rewards of actually achieving them later in the year.
